How to vote on 4 November 2026.

The 2026 Local Government Elections take place on Wednesday 4 November 2026. You vote for your ward councillor and separately for a party list which fills the PR seats.

Step 1 — Check you're registered

Registration weekends: 20–21 June 2026 (past) and August 2026.

Step 3 — Know your ward

Your ballot depends on your ward. Use our councillor finder to identify it — no ID number required.

What to bring

Your South African ID (green ID book, smartcard, or valid TRC).
You must vote at the station where you're registered.
