Who Runs Joburg is a non-partisan civic-education project for the 2026 Local Government Elections and beyond. Our job is to make it easy to know which sphere of government does what — nothing more, nothing less.

What we don't do

• We do not endorse or oppose any political party or candidate.
• We do not offer "solutions" or campaign for any position.
• We do not collect ID numbers, names, or accounts.
• We do not build our own service-issue reporting pipeline — we route to official channels.

Team & funding

Independent volunteer team. No party, government or corporate funding. Server costs underwritten by an independent civic-tech grant (to be disclosed on publication).

Reviewers

Our quiz wording and neutrality framing is reviewed by an independent panel drawn from South African political-science and civic-tech communities. Names publish at launch.
